Terms and Conditions

 

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions apply to all handyman, maintenance, repair, and property services provided by Barossa Regional Home Maintenance (“the Contractor”) to the client (“the Customer”).

By accepting a quote, booking a service, or allowing work to commence, the Customer agrees to these Terms and Conditions.

2. Services Provided

Services may include, but are not limited to:

  • General handyman work.

  • Residential and commercial maintenance.

  • Repairs and installations.

  • Planned maintenance services.

  • Property upkeep and minor renovations.

  • Preventative maintenance inspections.

  • All work will be carried out with reasonable care, skill, and professionalism.

3. Quotes and Pricing

  • Quotes are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated.

  • Work includes only the listed items in the quote.  Extra work or changes may incur additional charges

  • The client is responsible for providing safe access to the work area.

  • Hidden damage or unforeseen issues discovered during work may require additional repairs and costs.

  • Pricing may be fixed-price, hourly rate, or estimate-based depending on the scope of works.

  • Materials, parts, and specialist subcontractor costs may be charged separately unless included in the quote.

  • Delays caused by weather, suppliers or site conditions are outside our control.

  • Cancellations after work has commenced or materials have been purchased may incur charges.

 

4. Payment Terms

  • Payment is due upon completion of work unless otherwise agreed in writing.

  • Commercial or ongoing maintenance clients may be invoiced under agreed payment terms.

  • The customer agrees to pay all costs incurred by the contractor in recovering overdue payments, including solicitor fees, court costs and collection agency fees where applicable.

  • Late payments may incur administration fees and interest in accordance with applicable Australian laws.

  • The Contractor reserves the right to suspend future work for overdue accounts.

 

5. Customer Responsibilities

The Customer agrees to:

  • Provide safe and reasonable access to the property.

  • Ensure pets and children are kept clear of work areas.

  • Disclose known hazards or issues before work begins.

  • Obtain body corporate, landlord, or council approvals where required.

  • Ensure utilities such as power and water are available if necessary for the work.

 

6. Variations and Additional Work

Any variation to the agreed scope of works must be approved by the Customer. Additional labour, materials, or time required due to changes or unforeseen circumstances will be charged accordingly.

 

7. Cancellations and Rescheduling

  • A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is requested for cancellations or rescheduling.

  • The Contractor reserves the right to charge a call-out fee for late cancellations or missed appointments.

  • The Contractor may reschedule works due to weather, illness, supplier delays, or unforeseen circumstances.

 

8. Workmanship Warranty

  • Manufacturer warranties apply to supplied products where applicable.

 

9. Limitation of Liability

  • The Contractor is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses.

  • The Contractor is not responsible for delays caused by events outside reasonable control.

  • Liability is limited to the value of the services provided, to the extent permitted by Australian Consumer Law.

Nothing in these Terms excludes rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

 

10. Safety and Compliance

The Contractor reserves the right to refuse unsafe work or work requiring licensed trades outside the Contractor’s qualifications or legal permissions.

Electrical, plumbing, gas, or regulated work requiring licensing may be referred to qualified subcontractors.

 

11. Planned Maintenance Services

For scheduled maintenance agreements:

  • Service intervals and inclusions will be outlined in writing.

  • Access must be available at agreed service times.

  • Ongoing agreements may be terminated by either party with written notice.

  • Emergency repairs outside scheduled maintenance may incur additional charges.

 

12. Property Damage

Reasonable care will be taken to avoid damage to the property. Any concerns regarding damage must be reported within 7 days of service completion.

The Contractor is not responsible for damage resulting from:

  • Existing deterioration or poor workmanship.

  • Hidden defects.

  • Structural movement.

  • Customer-supplied materials.

 

13. Photos and Marketing

The Contractor may take photographs of completed work for record keeping and marketing purposes unless the Customer requests otherwise in writing.

No personal identifying information will be shared without consent.

14. Blinds & Curtains

Only internal roller blinds, not external are installed, either double or single and must be made known at time of inquiry including if the blinds need cutting.  The Contractor is not responsible in the event that the blinds cannot be trimmed due to the blind type.  Venetians can be installed but must be the correct size, The Contractor will not cut.  Only curtain rods are installed, The Contractor is not responsible for attaching curtains.    

15. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of South Australia and applicable Australian legislation.

 

16. Acceptance

Acceptance of a quote, invoice, booking confirmation, or commencement of work constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
